Özet: Staj, teorik eğitimi destekleyici, uygulamaya dayalı bir eğitim yöntemidir. Stajların, Bilgi ve Belge Yönetimi (BBY) bölümlerinde teori ve uygulama ilişkisi açısından ayrı bir önem taşıdığı, üniversitelerdeki BBY müfredatlarında uygulama dersi olarak yer almasından da anlaşılabilir. Bu çalışma, stajın Marmara Üniversitesi Bilgi ve Belge Yönetimi Bölümü (M.Ü. BBYB) öğrencileri üzerindeki etkilerini ölçmek adına 2016 yılının yaz döneminde stajını tamamlayan 2. ve 3. sınıf öğrencileriyle gerçekleştirilen anket uygulaması ve eğitim-öğretim yılı süresince staj süreçlerinin gelişiminde farklı zamanlarda yapılan birebir görüşmelerle elde edilen veriler üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, zorunlu stajını yapan öğrencilerin, staj yeri seçimleri konusunda bilgi vermek, teorik bilgi ve becerilerini uygulamaya yansıtıp yansıtamadıklarını incelemek ve stajın bilgi ve belge yönetimi alanında mesleki beklenti ve gelecek üzerindeki etkilerini değerlendirmektir. Anket çalışması, staj yapılan kurumun değerlendirilmesi, teorik bilgi ve becerilerin değerlendirilmesi ve staj uygulamasının mesleki gelecek ve beklentileri üzerine etkisi olmak üzere üç kategori ve altı faktörde ele alınmıştır. Araştırmada nicel ölçütler kullanılmıştır. Veriler anket uygulamasıyla toplanmıştır ve sorular likert ölçeğine göre hazırlanmıştır. Uygulanan analiz yöntemi her bir faktör için temel betimsel istatistiklerle değerlendirmedir. İki zorunlu staj uygulaması bulunan M.Ü. BBYB’de ilk stajlarını yapan öğrencilerle ikinci stajlarını yapanlar arasında mesleğe bakış açısından farklılık olup olmadığını ölçmek için bağımsız t testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada ölçmeye değer olarak görülen bir başka unsur meslek hakkındaki gelecek beklentilerinin staj yapılan yere göre değişip değişmemesi konusu; Kruskal Wallis-H testi sonuçlarına göre analiz edilmiştir. It is also understandable that the internship has a special importance in terms of theory and practice in the Information and Records Management (IRM) departments, since it is an application course in the curriculum of the same departments in universities. However, since the evaluation of this research focuses on quantitative data, qualitative data are not mentioned in the analysis part, but in the conclusion part. This study focuses on the questionnaire conducted by 2nd and 3rd year students who performed their internship in 2016 summer and the data obtained during the interviews dated to various periods in order to measure the effects of the internship upon the students of Marmara University IRM department. However, since the evaluation of this research focuses on quantitative data, qualitative data are not mentioned in the analysis part, but in the conclusion part. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the students who perform their compulsory internship, to inform them about the internship place selection, to examine whether they reflect the theoretical knowledge and skills to the practice and to determine the professional expectation in the field of information and records management. Quantitative criteria were used in this study. The data were collected by questionnaire and the questions were prepared according to likert scale. The method of analysis applied is evaluated with basic descriptive statistics for each factor. During the evaluation, the students' experiences before and after the internship, their theoretical training, professional competence, job satisfaction and motivation, as well as the opinions of the interns about the institution providing the internship opportunity are discussed. An independent t-test is applied to determine whether there is any difference between the first-time practitioner and the second-time practitioner. Another factor that has been seen as an element worth to be measured in the research is whether the future expectations about the profession change according to the internship place and this topic is analyzed according to the results of the Kruskal Wallis-H test. The research is limited to the students of Marmara University, Department of Information and Records Management. The study is intended to underline the students' career goals, the choice of internships, the development of professional knowledge and skills and reveal the relationship between theory and practice for IRM field. Moreover, it will be able to contribute to the literature in terms of showing their professional tendencies. It is also important to give an idea of whether there are differences between the application areas such as librarianship, archiving and records management -with regard to professional expectations and the professional future.
