Özet: The aim of this research is to discover and examine the problems during pianoeducation of Turkish music teacher candidates in order to increase the quality ofmusic teachers’ education. The research was practiced in the 2011-2012 academicyear and the research group was formed from 10 piano educators at Music EducationDepartment in Gazi Faculty of Education at Gazi University. Data was collectedthrough 28 questioner survey and six open-ended questions.Quantitative andqualitative research techniques were used in order to resolve the collected data.Content analysis was used and obtained the data was tabled in frequencies andpercentage values. The SPSS 20.0 package program was used in the overall dataanalysis. In the light of findings the problems during piano education of Turkishmusic teacher candidates were discovered and suggestions were made in order tosolve them
