Özet: Lifestyles that differ based on economical, spatial and social changes may result in the emergence of significant issues regarding adaptation, dynamism and sustainability in historical urban centers. Revitalization strategies play a key role in terminating the issues that emerged as historical urban centers became outdated and lost their commercial dynamism, dwellers left these centers, artifacts with significant cultural heritage value were lost, and social disharmony and disintegration occurred in time. This study aims to assess the spatial, social and economical effects of revitalization strategies for the Urban Site Area in Suriçi District of Diyarbakır, Turkey, from the perspective of dwellers. The questionnaire data obtained from 381 dwellers in the area were analyzed using the package programs of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26 and AMOS version 23 by IBM. The spatial, social and financial effects of revitalization strategies were assessed with the questionnaire data and Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) in terms of two separate scales as “Service Assessments” and “Regional Assessments”. Results indicated a statistically significant and positive correlation between the service and regional assessments. Regional opinions from the dwellers of Suriçi changed adversely as their thoughts on the services offered in Suriçi became negative. Similarly, their regional assessments became more positive as they found the services more satisfactory. This study presented recommendations for the revitalization strategies regarding the Urban Site Area in Suriçi.
