Özet: Purpose: To determine the disaster awareness levels of students studying in health sciences faculties. Materials and Methods: The sampling method of the research is convenience sampling. The data were obtained by the survey method. The population of the research consists of students studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences of a state university. In addition to demographic questions, students studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences were asked 8 statements to measure their disaster awareness levels. Research data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 program. Results: Of the students participating in the study, 127 were female and 42 were male. 110 of the students are emergency aid and disaster management, 24 midwifery, 19 nursing, 11 physiotherapy and rehabilitation, 5 nutrition and dietetics students. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the disaster awareness level of female students was higher than that of male students, there was no significant difference between departments, there was no significant difference in class level and disaster awareness did not show a significant difference according to earthquake experiences. Conclusion: It was concluded that the level of disaster awareness of the students in faculties of health sciences is high. In this context, it is recommended to organize informative and awareness-raising education programs on emergency and disaster management, to use visual posters, simulators, and to conduct drills for disaster preparedness.
