Özet: Ankylosingspondylitis (AS), is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting mainly the axial spine and characterized by ossification of the spinal discs, joints and ligaments. Spinecame more fragile by stiffness of the vertebral column and the loss of flexibility. Fracture risk is further increased by the osteoporosis that accompanies AS. Lower cervical region is most vulnerable to fracture, which is followed by thoraco lumbar junction. Fractures are more unstable due to ossification of supportive and soft elastic tissues and may cause neurologic deficits as a result of dislocation. After the spinal cord injury (SCI), early rehabilitation program is known to reducing complications and accelerating the neurological healing. We aimed to present with this presentation, post-rehabilitation outcomes of a patient who diagnosed with AS accompanied by SCI after a vehicle traffic accident.
