Özet: Shopping centres, today, are structures that have an important place in social life and consumption and meet many of our needs. Defined by closed, semi-open and open public spaces, these structures provide social interaction as well as commerce. Universal Design approach, which cares about the participation of all users in design instead of the standard users alone, aims to meet the expectations, requests and requirements of different user groups. In this context, it has become important to evaluate the design of shopping centres as well as with a high number of users based on a universal design approach. The aim of this study is to examine the spatial structure of shopping centres as well as their development in the historical process, to evaluate Kayseri Park, Forum Kayseri and Kaysermall (İldem Park) shopping centres, which provide services in different parts of the city of Kayseri for their universal design approach and to offer suggestions.
