Özet: Developments in political, technological, economic and social areas, that occurred towards the end of the twentieth century were reflected to the health area , as well. In this process defined as globalization, a number of problems involving global expansion regarding health are brought to agenda. In such situations, it is required especially for nurses who comprise a large group within the health care professionals, to attain a global viewpoint aimed at health in order to be aware of health problems that are brought along with globalization and generate solutions. The objective of this review is to explain the effect of globalization upon nursing and to be a guide for the solutions. As a consequence, nurses could prevent the negative reflections of globalization on health through personal and collective efforts using social consciousness and political powers. Thus, instead of completely taking sides with or objecting to globalization, it will be reasonable to contribute to national and international precautions that will decrease the negative effects of globalization.
