Özet: Objectıve: In this study, we aimed to evaluate mean Platelet Volume (MPV) at children with vitamin B12 deficiency. Material and method: 68 patients with the diagnosis of vitamin B12 deficiency and 54 healthy children as a control group were enrolled to study. MPVand platelet counts were evaluated at patients and control groups. Vitamin B12 level under of 200 pg / Lwere considered to be insufficiency. Results: İn the study vitamin B12 deficiency patients of mean platelet volume values compared to the healthy (7.09 ± 1.1 fl) control group (6.52 ± 0.7 fl) was statistically significantly higher mean values (p=0.001), and platelet count were not statistically significant (p> 0.05). Conclusions: This study suggests that for the diagnosis of patients with vitamin B12 deficiency may be indication by looking the values of mean platelet volume in routine complete blood count.
