Özet: Art of weaving is one of the oldest arts since the beginning of human kind. Ottoman fabrics like silk and velvet have had a significant place in not only Europe but also the whole world for their weaving technique and rich jaquard portfolio. The richness of this weaving technique and the jaquards collection is the outcome of the talents and the extra ordinary harmony of the masters and their apprentices. Hand weaving art in the Ottoman Palace had its peak period in the 16th and 17th century in technique and jaquard. In this period; parallel to the economical and social improvement in the Empire, the weaving in the Palace has also improved due to the strong management and structural change. Although not noticed widely; apart from the silk and the velvet the Ottoman 100% cotton and linen wovens which have high absorbance, won the first international prize as "Ottoman Towel" and was exhibited in "Crystal Palace" in London
