Özet: Banks which are very important for economies are also business firms like other business firms aiming to make profit. Banks evaluate their situation by measuring profitability and then develop short and long term strategies. Developed strategy includes risk management and price management which are necessary not only in increasing profit but also preserve profit rates looking well. Coming into prominence of profitability of Turkish Banking Sector in local and international crisis in 2000’s bring out opinion to make a research on profitability. In this article, profitability of Turkish banking sector with the historical development process are discussed
