Özet: Although the establishment processes and conditions of orphanages vary from region to region, all orphanages are established with the common purpose of protecting and supporting orphans and the homeless. Therefore, orphanages are structures that should be planned in a way that will provide the highest benefit for children. For children whose mental and physical development is not yet complete, environmental factors are of great importance in the design process. This study will highlight how space design should be appropriate in order for the development of visual perception in pre-school children staying in these orphanages, the effects of the design on the perceptual behavioral performance of children and the role of textile products in this design.
