Özet: The aim of this study is to examine the usage areas of the external resources, which are used frequently in terms of management in hotel businesses, in the 4 and 5 star hotel businesses operating in Sapanca. A meeting was held with the managers of 4 and 5 star hotel businesses operating in Sapanca district of Sakarya province, using the formal interview technique, one of the primary data collection methods. Interviews were conducted with 9 managers from different departments of 3, 4 and 5-star hotels in the district. The obtained data were interpreted with the descriptive analysis method. In this study, it was found out that the hotels used outsourcing the most in the departments of food & beverage and technical services. Also they needed the outsourcing methods to acquire extra staff. It was also shown that the most important criteria that the businesses looked for at the firms that provided the outsourcing were the references and institutionalism. The study also showed that the firms sent the regular staff to extra works to solve the salary problem between the regular staff and the extra staff, minimizing the salary problems to minimum.
