Özet: It is mentioned in the history of world music that the Turks have been interested in music therapy for a long time and have been healed by the cures of shamans. It cannot be said that the information in the sources in terms of the history of Turkish music of music therapy, which is a common field that world musicologists and psychologists are interested in, has not yet been examined sufficiently. One of the moments in which the sources closely related to the history of Turkish music were written is the period of Islamic civilization, when the ancient Greek and Middle Eastern music culture were mixed. It drew attention that Yakup Kindi, one of the earliest Islamic philosophers whose work on music has survived to the present day and one of the authors of the writings of music history, has not been examined on music therapy. The purpose of this article will be to examine Kindi's ideas on music therapy. The review of the article is limited to Kindi's musical treatise. It is understood that Kindi has frequently expressed the effect that music has on human psychology. He draws attention to the harmony of music with both tune, song and lyrics. In addition, Kindi's request to use colors and scents to increase the effect of music therapy is one of the interesting results.
