Özet: Purpose: The aim of this study was determining attitudes towards the elderly of the students in elderly care program and affectıng factors. Material and Methods: The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 257 students studying in an elderly care program in the health care services department of a state university. The Kogan AttitudesToward Old People Scale and the Student Identification Form were used to collect the research data and data were collected via Google online form. Kruskal Wallis Variance Analysis and Mann Whitney U-test were used to evaluate the research data. Results: The average age of the students was 20.18±0.94, and the total score of Kogan AttitudesToward Old People Scale was 155.62±40.16. It was found a statistically significant difference between the socio-demographic data of the Attitude Scale towards the Elderly and gender, 1st and 2nd grade, family type, frequency of meeting with the elderly person and the desire to work with the elderly person after graduation (p <0.05). Conclusion: It was determined that elderly care students' attitudes towards the elderly were positive. Participants who have healthy family relationships and want to work with elderly people and who visit elderly people have a positive attitude towards elderly people. It is recommended to organize social activities for elderly care students to spend more time with the elderly, to give the students the opportunity to implement their education in the field, and to increase the awareness of the society on aging.
