Özet: Purpose: People try out many methods to lose weight with the increase in obesity and weak body perception. One of these methods is slimming drugs that are used unconsciously. This study was conducted to determine the slimming drugs attitudes of the students enrolled in Artvin Çoruh University. Materials and Methods: A slimming drugs attitude scale was administered to 248 students. The results of the questionnaire were evaluated using SPSS 22. Results: Of the participants, 31.9% were male and 68.1% were female. Attitudes of female participants towards slimming drugs were significantly higher than males. Of the participants, 82.3% aged between 18 and 22 years, 14.9% aged between 23 and 27 years, and 2.08% aged 28 years and above. Slimming drugs attitude scores of those aged 28 years and above were higher, but the difference was not significant. Of the participants, 33% weighed 40-55 kg, 45% weighed 56-70 kg, 22% weighed 71 kg and above. The scores of those who weighed lower (40-55) were found to be significantly higher than those of other groups. Of the participants, 12.9% were weak, 72.2% were normal-weight individuals, 12.5% were slightly overweight and 2.4% were overweight. The slimming drugs attitude scores did not differ statistically according to height/weight index. Conclusion: The study results showed that slimming drugs attitude scores of female participants and interestingly those who weighed lower were significantly higher than the other groups.
