Özet: It is the subject of this study to explain the issue of the inspection of non-Muslim and foreign schools that emerged during the Ottoman period in the context of the 1888 Non-Muslim and Foreign Schools Inspectorate Regulation. These schools, which have continued their existence in a way since the establishment of the Ottoman Empire, remained out of control for a long time. But XIX. by the turn of the century, it was understood that the issue of the inspection of the schools in question was more important than thought. This process, which started with the Tanzimat period, It was gained momentum during the Abdulhamid II period. This study focuses on determining the general lines of the 1888 Non-Muslim and Foreign Schools Inspectorate Regulation, which has an important place in the control of non-Muslim and foreign schools in Ottoman education.
