Özet: Historical primary sources that constitute the nature of history education are also an important part of social studies education. The aim of this study is to determine the use cases of social studies and history teachers for both classroom-based and web-based primary resources. The study was carried out by survey model, one of the quantitative research models. A total of 205 teachers, including 61 history and 144 social studies teachers, working in the public and private sectors participated in the study. The survey developed by Hicks, Doolittle, and Lee (2004) was adapted to Turkish and used for data collection. Data has been collected online with Google Forms. Data analysis was performed with SPSS 24 program and descriptive analysis (percentage, frequency, average) was used. While processing the data, the sub-dimensions of the questionnaire were used as in the original study. Thus, the purpose of social studies-history teaching and learning, the purpose of using primary sources, a comparison of classroom-based and web-based historical primary resource use, a description of the use of web-based historical primary resources, and the reasons why teachers do not use web-based primary resources are given as headings in the findings. According to the findings obtained in the study, it can be said that teachers generally consider primary resource use important and have a positive view of the use of web-based primary resources.
