These environments are important because they carry dangers and risks that will harm the physical, mental and social health of the employee. In working life, we face physical, chemical and biological risk factors. Occupational exposure values have been defined for physical and chemical risks, but it is not possible to talk about limit values for biological risks. Today, healthcare workers are the most exposed to biological factors. Healthcare professionals are at great risk due to Covıd-19, which the world health organization has declared as a pandemic. Although these hazards cause a decrease in work performance in their employees, they increase work accidents and occupational diseases. This situation adversely affects the health and safety of other employees. Therefore, in order to create a healthy and safe working environment, it is important to make the work environment where we spend an important part of our lives compliant with the provisions of the occupational health and safety legislation. In this review, the importance of biological risk factors in working life and prevention methods are mentioned.
