Özet: Objective: the aim of this study was to reveal the metaphorical perceptions of women who give birth at home towards women who give birth and help. Material and method: This study were used qualitative research method and phenomenology pattern. In the sample selection of this study was used criteria sampling method from purposeful sampling method. In-depth interviews were conducted with 20 women who provided the criteria. The data was collected through 2 forms as “Information Form identifying women giving birth at home” and semi-structured “in-depth individual interview form”. How would you describe a woman who gave birth at home to women who gave birth at home? the open-ended question was asked. The data was evaluated by content analysis. Results: The ages of 20 women who participated in the study varied between 25 and 50 years. Women who gave birth at home, giving birth, helping women were evaluated in 5 categories. These are; “helpful, helpful women”, “friendly, warm-blooded, sincere women”, “knowledgeable, experienced women”, “descriptive, informative women”, “reassuring, familiar, familiar women” categories. The metaphorical context of these categories in women who gave birth at home was defined as “mother”, “Angel”, “Light”, “Midwife”. Some of the women involved in the study used more than one metaphor. The most common metaphor used by women who give birth at home is mother, whose frequency is 18. The height of the frequency of the mother metaphor was due to the fact that it met all concepts in conceptual categories. Conclusion and recommendations: Between conceptual categories and metaphors, the context reveals how women who give birth at home are perceived and made sense. Globally recommended that arise in the study of the conceptual categories WHO “respectful mother care” birth to the concept of integrated medical personnel who had to be provided to competencies and awareness, the health care institutions, facilities for women, “comfortable birth”, “birth respectful”, “decent birth’ of human rights violation-free balance birth” presented can serve as centers.
