Özet: In this study, the crisis experienced in the egg sub-sector in Turkey was examined, taking into account the quantity produced, producer and consumer prices, export prices, costs, and the structural characteristics of the sector. The most significant economic crises suffered by the egg sector in recent history were the economic crisis of 2001 and the world financial crisis of 2007 and 2008. Avian influenza, which had a significant effect on the structure of the sector, occurred first in 2005 and 2006, and again in 2015. Successful crisis management was achieved by means of precautions taken with action plans prepared at the national level, the fact that the sector was organised, an increase in awareness by producers and consumers, and deliberate protective and combative measures.
