Özet: Understanding the hadiths correctly is possible by having a grasp of the subtleties of Arabic language. Allusion and metaphore that are of the literary expression types are significant in this respect. Thus, allusion and metaphore in general meaning are evaluated as a significant expression type in Arabic language. In this study, we give an outline of allusion and metaphore and point the differences between the two expressing type. Al-Baydawi’s life and his Tuhfah al-Abrar were introduced. Al-Baydawi lived in Shiraz and Tabriz and was a productive scholar who wrote books in approximately every area of Islamic sciences. Al-Baydawi’s Tuhfah al-Abrar is an exegesis of Begawi’s Mesabih al-Sunna. This work both comes into prominence with its religious analysis and includes Islamic law, kalam and many more subjects. In the continuation of the study, some examples of allusion and metaphore in the book and al-Baydawi’s explanations to these hadiths were mentioned. Finally, it was seen that al-Baydawi made strong interpretation about allusion and metaphore that are significant in order to understand the hadiths correctly.
