Özet: This study was carried out to determine the relationships between body weight, body length, shank length and finger length and live weight gain of day-old male broiler chicks. In the experiment, a total of 192 male broiler chicks were used and the animals were divided into two different groups for each body measure. For day-old chicks, two groups were formed as heavy and light (47.7 and <47.7 g) for body weight; as long and short (≥2.01 and <2.01 cm) for body length, (18.3 and <18.3 cm) for shank length and (2.9 and <2.9 cm) for finger length. During the six-week fattening period, the effects of the body measurements on weekly and cumulative body weight gain were investigated. In the analysis, body weight gains between 5-6 weeks showed significant differences (P<0.01) in the long and short groups in terms of chick length, while the differences in the other weeks were insignificant. In terms of finger length, body weight averages of the long and short groups differed significantly (P<0.01, P<0.05) between 0-1 and 4-5 weeks, while the differences in the other weeks were not significant. Chick weight significantly (P<0.05) affected the body weight gain in 0-6 weeks, and the heavy group increased more than the light group. In terms of finger length, the differences between the averages of the long and short groups were found to be significant for 0-1 and 0-5 weeks (P<0.01, P <0.05), but not significant for the other weeks. Differences between weeks in terms of weekly body weight gains were found significant (P<0.05) in all groups. Significant and positive correlations were observed in the body weight gains of the experimental groups according to the weeks.
