Özet: The transition to parenthood is a period of crisis in which individuals are in new roles, conditions and needs. This period requires individuals to adapt to new parental roles, rearrange their existing relationships and develop new relationships. Individuals need support in this regard. Nurses should support parents' self-efficacy and compliance in dealing with the difficulties, fears and concerns faced by parents during pregnancy and the weeks after birth. High parental self-efficacy is strongly associated with parenting skills that will foster a healthy, happy, child-rearing environment in which physical and emotional attention and care are provided. Programs to support parental adaptation will also contribute to the initiation and maintenance of love for the baby during the attachment process, with the conscious care approach it gives to the family during pregnancy, birth and postpartum periods. Supportive initiatives should be designed to improve the parenting behavior and feelings of young mothers. In order to achieve the targeted results in adapting to parenting and improving parental knowledge and skills; It is important to use appropriate theories and learning approaches. In this context; It should be ensured that the importance of parent support programs is understood, the program is developed, disseminated and implemented in health units. In this article, Parental Adaptation Support Program which was prepared based on Bandura's Social Learning Theory, was shared in order to make expectant mothers who are preparing for their first parenting experience feel more competent.
