Özet: ABSTRACT The aim of the study, which is a systematic review is to determine the relationship between delivery mode and breastfeeding status according to the findings of studies on delivery type and breastfeeding status. In the study, Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, ISI Web of Science, Medline Complete databases were searched and the articles accessed were evaluated using the keywords “mode of birth and breastfeeding” between November 2019 and March 2020. A total of 16 studies on delivery method and breastfeeding, which were conducted in 2007-2017 and published in 2017-2018, were included in this systematic review. As a result of this systematic review, it was determined that the mode of delivery was effective in feeding the newborn in the early period, and women who had vaginal delivery started breastfeeding earlier and more effectively than women who gave birth by cesarean section. In this study, it was found that mothers felt more tired and did not want to breastfeed due to pain in the incision area after cesarean section, and they experienced breastfeeding problems due to fatique and episiotomy induced pain during vaginal delivery.
