Özet: In order to understand how and how an individual or society lives, how they behave, what they like, their rituals, religious and traditional ceremonies, traumas they experience in the face of war, natural disasters, education, illness, death, in short, the great founder of psychoanalytic theory, the Austrian It is necessary to understand Sigmund Freud. While he was treating his patients, Freud found the opportunity to prove the accuracy of his opinions by making use of dreams when he doubted the accuracy of his information. Definitions of psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic concepts, dream studies and psychoanalytic criticism are widely used in the study. In this article, three films of Semih Kaplanoğlu are examined within the scope of critical psychoanalysis, the relationship between psychoanalysis and cinema with the phenomenon of dream. The award-winning director Semih Kaplanoğlu's Yusuf Trilogy, which is in the writer- director category of Turkish cinema, named Egg (2007), Süt (2008), Bal (2010), describes Yusuf's dreams and daily life in his middle age youth and childhood periods by going from the current situation to the past. It is seen that the seemingly meaningless dreams Yusuf sees in the films Egg and Milk, which tells about his middle age and youth, are revealed in the film Bal, which tells about his childhood, and it is also understood that there are visuals and images that leave deep traces in Yusuf's life. The important scenes in these films that hide the psychoanalytic clues are analyzed by dividing them into four categories with reference to them. These units are; distant past, broken egg, votive, well, relief after confrontation, snake, uncle, pomegranate, prayer, milk, goose and catfish, telepathy, rope, path, school, breakfast and diving into dream. In these days, when everything is consumed quickly with popular culture, Kaplanoğlu gives important messages by drawing attention to social problems such as traditional family values, education system, belief, culture and job security. Thus, it is evaluated that the psychoanalytic theory in cinema, which is one of the most important theories of psychology after linguistics, historical science, political communication and anthropology, which constitute the integral parts of communication, is used effectively in the films of the Yusuf Trilogy.
