Özet: This study titled “The Closed Form Ceramics Produced in 16th Century İznik focuses on the typology of the closed form of the 16th century ceramics museum located in Turkey. The main purpose of the research is to create a typology of ceramics in this period. For this purpose, firstly, container shapes were investigated and body shapes were determined as criteria in their sequencing. Container bodies consists of forms called simple and compound forms. Subsequently, subgroups were formed by considering the criteria, size and proportion, dialect shape and attachments within these two groups. In this context, the term forms of ceramic typology was examined under the main nine types obtained from museums in Turkey (Mug, Cups, inkpot, Lamp, jars, pitchers, bottles, Propel, Vases) Considering the studies on the 16th century Ottoman ceramics art, it was found that the form was either not processed at all or contained very little information by keeping it in the background. It is seen that the subject of container types is not sufficiently investigated in terms of typology, function and form. In this context, a typological evaluation of the closed form Iznik ceramics seen in the 16th century was made.
