Özet: In this study, the socio economic structure of the enterprises affiliated with organic red meat producers union in Ayvacık district of Çanakkale province was revealed and cattle activities were evaluated. Besides, the viewpoints of the producers to organic farming was evaluated. The data were obtained from total of 31 producers affiliated to the union in 2018. On the evaluation of the data, it was utilized from main descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation and percentages. The problems which the producers encountered in organic cattle breeding and the reasons of applying organic farming were determined and the relationships and the similarities between the variables were examined by multi-dimensional scaling analysis. Cattle breeding and organic cattle breeding experiences of the producers’ were found as 29.52 and 10.74 years, respectively and it was determined that the three services which the producers most utilized were determined as herd book, marketing and input (forage) supply, respectively. The most significant problem which the producers encountered during the production process was determined as finding market and low meat prices and inadequate promotion and advertisement activities followed this. According to multi-dimensional analysis results, it was determined that the most significant two problems which the producers encountered in organic cattle breeding were low and unsteady meat prices and inadequate promotion and advertisement activities and for this reason, these opinions had higher values than the others and had the similar effects in terms of the producers. It was concluded that the producers applied organic farming due to the reasons as it is less harmful to the environment, the producers have higher income by organic farming and it will be more important in the future.
