Özet: While scientists thought that global warming climate change and natural processes were effective until the middle of the 20th century, it is now understood that people's industrial, agricultural and energy use has negative effects on this process. Rapid urbanization, industrialization and increasing consumption affect climate change and threaten the sustainability of water resources, which are vital for humanity. Ensuring the sustainability of water resources raises the issue of conserving resources and water consumption. At this point, the efficient use of water resources becomes a priority in “Landscape Architecture” applications. Today, classical landscaping arrangements are replaced with “Xeriscape” applications, which are called arid landscapes. It is aimed to keep water consumption to a minimum level by using plants and natural species which have low water consumption with drought landscape applications. In this study, it was aimed to determine the suitability of “Xeriscape” in Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University campus and solution suggestions were presented. As a result of the study, it was determined that 111 plant species in the area generally have low and medium water demands, they 89% are suitable for xerophyte landscaping application, and the irrigation system is suitable for xerophytic landscape practice. It was concluded that increasing the number of drought resistant plant species in the natural vegetation of the area would be appropriate for the “Xeriscape” approach.
