Özet: ABSTRACT Purpose: The cross-sectional study of our study was conducted to determine the extent to which the public benefited from the Family Medicine model in Sivas since 2008 and the factors affecting it. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the family medicine model on the health care system in Sivas since 2008 and the factors affecting it. Materials and Methods: In cross-sectional study, the questionnaire which consisted of 15 questions aiming to determine the factors affecting the family physician preferences, was applied to a total of 430 households by face-to-face interview method. Results: According to the survey data of 430 households in the city center, Yıldızeli District and 4 villages, it was observed that the public preferred the 2nd and 3rd step health institutions for both the control of the disease and the control of pregnancy. It has been observed that features such as social security, education, gender, place of residence do not affect the rate of applying to the family physician. It was observed that the most preferred family physicians were preferred in the use of family planning services (90%). Conclusion: It is observed that the family medicine system is not effective in any extent, even if the desired successes are achieved in some areas, there are still deficiencies, the system which is intended to be applied is not implemented and it is adapted to a systemthat will satisfy the public.
