Özet: Nursing practices are utilized for increasing the quality of healthcare services, as well as improving the caring standards. To define the same in detail, it can be described as the use of different nursing terminology and codes within nursing practices, identifying the nursing initiatives, taking clinical decisions, planning and managing the caring process, calculating the caring costs and generating data for official resources. Today, there are a number of classification systems developed for the fields of nursing. American Nursing Association (ANA) mentions 12 nursing classification systems. These classification systems, along with the classification of clinical caring contributes into creating the healthcare policies, managing the resources, reducing the costs, identifying the needs, delivering the data required for healthcare as fast as possible, as well as resolving the clinical problems of the patients under a swift and effective manner. For this reason, it is of crucial importance for the healthcare professionals and nurses to efficiently use the classification systems within the scope of patient care.
