Özet: Pesticides used against pest in greenhouse adversely affect beneficial insects such as bumblebees as well as target pests. Therefore, it is crucial to determine the negative effects of insecticides used for different purposes in bumblebees for their pollinator performances. In this experiment, possible detrimental effects of deltamethrin in Bombus terrestris were investigated under laboratory conditions. Fifty queenless micro colonies were divided to five experimental groups. Micro colonies in each group were fed with different sugar syrup containing deltamethrin in different proportion of its recommended dose (0-control, 1/1000, 1/100, 1/10, 1/1). According to results, workers in micro colonies are affected directly in micro colonies which exposed to recommended dose of deltamethrin, while negative effects are less observed in other groups. Duration of egg + larvae period, pupae period and total brood period were determined as 16,44±2,56 days, 12,13±2,03 days and 28,88±3,64 days in standard feeding conditions (control group), respectively. Results also showed that micro colony method is useful and current practice for determining the effect of pesticides in bumblebees.
