Özet: In this study, the effects of different weaning ages on the developmental characteristics of lambs and milk production of ewes were investigated. The animal material of the study consisted of Awassi sheep and its lambs in a private farm in the Kilis province. Lambs were divided into three groups (35 heads) according to sex type. The first group was weaned at 60. days, second group was at 75. days, III. group was at 90. days. At the end of the study, average birth weights were determined as 3.4 ± 0.09 kg, 3.6 ± 0.08 kg and 3.4 ± 0.09 kg in the same group ranking and weaning weight was effected by early weaning age (60 days) according to the traditional method (90 days) (P <0.05). However, it should be taken into consideration that growing lambs in high quality pastures after weaning will be more economical in terms of farm profitability.
