Özet: Healthy lifestyle can be defined as determining and applying the most appropriate behaviors for their own health by controlling all the behaviors that affect the health of the person. The aim of our study was to determine the healthy lifestyle behaviors of the dentistry students who will be the future health professionals and the relationship between healthy lifestyle behaviors and level of physical activity. This research was conducted on 177 students, accepted to participate in this study voluntarily, from the Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Dentistry. A Socio-Demographic Data Form developed by the researchers, International Physical Activity Assessment Questionnaire, and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale (HLBS) II were used for assessments. Independent groups t-test, One-way ANOVA analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the data that provided normal distribution conditions. The average age was 22.25±1.72 years, and among the subjects, 101 (57.1%) were women. The students' average IPAQ value was 1584.70±1753.01 MET-min/hf (low level of physical activity). Students' Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale average score was 126.9±18.7. The mean scores of SQS total, physical activity, and stress management subscale were found to be significantly higher (p<0.05) in the students who had a sufficient level of physical activity than inactive students. Pearson Correlation analysis revealed that the physical activity level showed a moderately positive correlation with the total SYDS scores (r:0.152), physical activity (r:0.354), and stress management (r:0.168) subscale scores (p<0.05). The results of this study suggest that dentistry students had low physical activity levels and moderate healthy lifestyle behaviors. It was observed that physical activity level was related to healthy lifestyle behaviors total scores, physical activity, and stress management subscale scores.
