Özet: Orthorexia nervosa, an obsession with healthy eating, is a serious condition affecting human health health. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between obsessions and the tendencies of university students studying in different departments to orthorexia nervosa. This descriptive study was conducted between 18.02.2019 – 31.05.2019 with 266 university students studying in different departments. Introductory data sheet, Ortho-11 and Maudsley list of Obsessive Compulsive questions were used to collect the data.Number, percentage, mean, t test, variance analysis and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the data. The average age of the students participating in the study was 20.04±1.49. The total score of the students Ortho-11 is 28.34±5.48 and the total score of the Maudsley list of Obsessive Compulsive questions is 17.31±5.56. 21.8% of the students who participated in the study showed an orthorectic tendency. Women show high orthorectic tendencies and obsessive behaviors compared to men (p<0.05). Students studying in health department have more orthorectic tendencies than social science students (p<0.001). The current diet students exhibit high orthorectic behavior compared to those who do not (p<0.001). A negative correlation between Ortho-11 and the Maudsley list of Obsessive-Compulsive questions was found (r: -0.171 p<0.05). It appears that as the orthorectic tendency increases, their obsessive behavior will tend to increase.
