Özet: The aim of this study is to examine the compliance of the 8th grade course book for The History of Revolution of the Republic of Turkey and Kemalism, which has been determined as a course book for the academic year 2019-2020, to the content organizing principles. The study was carried out using document analysis method among qualitative research According to the results of the research, while the content was presented in the 8th grade course book for The History of Revolution of the Republic of Turkey and Kemalism, its content was found to be consistent with the curriculum achievements, although it was observed that there was not enough knowledge to reflect the attainment in some subjects. The content presented in the course book is given in a clear and understandable manner and also in accordance with the student’s readiness level. It has been understood that current items are used in the course book but not one a sufficient level. There are more pictures/photos and maps in the course book images. It has been determined that visuals such as logo, sketch, chronological chart, and emblem are included in the course book, although to a lesser extent. Although visual items are generally seen to be clear, understandable, annotated and suitable for the acquisitions, black and white, unclear visuals exist also in the course book. It has been understood that the preparatory questions in the course book are relevant to the subject and attainment and also appropriate for the student level. It has been seen that the preparation questions are both measuring the level of knowledge of students and providing them with research, analysis, thinking and questioning skills. The evaluation questions in the course book (classic, fill-in-the-blank, true/false, multiple choice) are presented in accordance with the content and outcome of the course. It has been concluded that the content of the textbook was created in accordance with learning-teaching principles.
