Özet: Following September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in U.S., claimsbegan popping up in the media about Al-Qaeda’s links in the Balkans. It isstill possible to come across some articles in the media which point to thecountries and regions dominated by Albanians and Bosniaks as the cells ofterrorism perpetrated in the name of Islam. Some Balkan countries mediaeven benefited from killing of Osama bin Laden in May 2011, such thatthey wrote the news where they were showing Bosniaks and Bosnia andHerzegovina connected with Al-Qaeda and international terrorism. Theallegations about use of the Balkans by terrorist as one transit zone,possible base and a place for recruiting new followers is not beingsupported with evidence.
