Özet: Greece’s independence process beginning with the revolt in 1821progressed with the massacre of Morean Turks systematically in front of theeyes of modern Europe. According to the testimony of eyewitnesses, hungerand death turned into a natural element of the daily life for Turks who livedin Morea during the Greek revolt. The massacre carried out by Greeks inTripolitsa, center of Morea, is among the biggest dramas in history of Turks.As far as can be judged from observations of some European authors, whojoined the revolt to support Greeks but winced in front of the barbarity theywitnessed, some aspects of cruel murders of Turks by Greeks can becharacterized as genocide. Turks were not just killed; their property andfoundation were depredated while their historical marks were erased forgood.
