Özet: The more widening of peripheral vascular surgery, resulted more operations and occasional early and tate compli¬cations requiring further surgery. These complicatines are namely occlusions, graft infection and pseudoaneurysms. In our institution, between the years 1979 to 1990, 784 patients received direct vascular reconstruction. Among these 59 (7.52 %) of them required further surgery. Smoking, hypertension and hyperlipidemia were major risk factors. Main indication for surgical procedures were limb salvage (76.8 %). Four patient died and 14 cases underwent major ampu¬tation, and overall limb salvage rate was 69.5 %. It is quite clear that secondary procedures are not as successful as initial ones. However, ase the end result of the complications, might be limb loss or even life, we recommend agressive surgical approach as an obligation for limb salvage.
