Özet: Forty children with noniatrogenic vascular trauma, underwent surgery among 1984 and 1994. AII ch ildren we re evaluated with the Pediatric Trauma Score (PTS). The PTS was < 8 in 67.5 %, and > 8 in 32.5 % of the pati ents, with a mean of 7.05. Popliteal (30 %), and brachial arteries (27.5 %) were mostly injured. The surgical pro cedures were: saphenous vein graft (65 %), end-to-end anastomosis (20 %), and lateral suture (15 %). Morbiciity and mortality were both 20 %. in conclusion, PTS plays a significant role in the evaluation of pediatric vascular trauma, and with a PTS < 8, amp u_tation and mortality rates are considerably increased .
