Özet: 435 femoral arteriograms were examined and 87 of these arteriograms (156 extremities) were contained in the study. Anatomical classification was done. Normal bifurcation in which the tibialis anterior artery arises inferior to ti­ bial plateu was named as type A, highly bifurcating anterior tibial artery was named as type B, common origin of the three branches of the popliteal artery was named as type C and arising of the peroneal artery from the anterior tibial artery were named as type D, and the congenital absence of the posterior tibial artery was named as type E. in 156 extremities, 138 extremities were type A (88.46 %) were B (4.48 %), 1 was type C (0.64 %) , 4 were type, D {2.58 %), 6 were type E (3.84 %). lf one side was normal (type A), the percentage of the other side to be normal is 2.27 %, and if the one side is abnormal, the percntage of the other side to be abnormal is 77 %. There was no sig­ nificant difference in the incidence of the anomaly between males and females (P< 0.05).
