Özet: Our department we stu di ed retrosp ectively 336 patients with peripheral arterial injury who were treated betwe en 1978 and 1998 years. Three-hundred-one( 89.6 Wo) of the cases were male, and 35 ( 10.4 % ) were fema le. Median age was 42.7 years ( ranged from 5 to 82 years) . The mechani cm s of the injuries were stb-wound (54.5 % , n= 183), gunshot( 22.6 % , n=76 ), blunt injury ( 18.5 % , n= 62), and iatrogenic ( 4.4 % , n=l 5), The most frequent injured vessels w ere femoral artery ( 46.1 % , n= 155 ) , and brachial artery ( 21.1 % , n= 71 ). Saphenous vein int erposition grafting for vascular reconstruction was the most frequent used tech nique ( 41.3 % , n= 139 ). Amputation rate was 2.8 % ( n=9 ) in our series , and mortality rate was 2. 97 % ( n= 1O ). The results of the surgical treatment of vascular injuries are now perfect together with increasing the clinical experience , with de veloping antibiotherapy, and transfusioning the fluid and blood .
