Özet: In this study, vascular injuries depending on cardiac catheterization were reviewed and the results were evaluated. Of 4557 patients, for whom cardiac catheterization and angiography were performed In the Deparment of Cardiology of Ataturk University Hospital between 1990 and 1997, 42 (0,92 %) developed vascular complication. We applied surgical intervention to 21 cases developing complication in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery and no mortality was seen. it was concluded that the prevention and treatment of vascular complications depending an catheterization, the de-termination of suitable acces point for the catheterization, the use of suitable equipment, providing enough hemos-tasis, and early surgical application In the cases of complication decreased the morbidity and mortality.
