Özet: Carotid parangangliomas are rare ,slow-growing tumors of neural crest origin. Arteriography Is diagnostic. Surgical ex of carotid paragangliomas is the best treatment of choice but may be complicated due to injury of cranial nerves and carotid arteries. In this study, fourteen patients with carotid paragangliomas treated at our institution are reviewed.All patients presented with a large, neck mass. Tumors were completely excised in 11 cases. Three patients underwent radiation therapy because the tumors yere extended cranialty. There were no mortality. One patient had transient vocal cord paralysis after surgery. Ona patient had injury to the Internal carotid artery causing stroke.
