Özet: Extraanatomic bypass, alternative approaches to reconstruction of the ischemic organ is necessary when standard bypass procedures cannot be performed safely because the poor operative risk of the patient, the presence of infection, anatomical consideration such as severe obesity, scarring from previous surgery, and ease of the reconstructive procedure. in the 15 years between 1985 and 1999, 126 patients were operated on l or aortoiliac and brachiocephalic occlusion at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, İstanbul University School of Medicine. The low operative mortality and improved patency rates of this series confirms that extraanatomic bypass is acceptable alternative to anatomic reconstruction lor patients with high-risk.
