Özet: Background: At present, measurement of the sympathetic skin response (SSR) is routinely employed technique lor evaluating the autonomic function of peripheral nerves. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible correlation between the existence of acute deep vein thrombosis (AOVT) and autonomic function of central nervous system. Methods: SSR was measured in the patients with unilateral AOVT in lower extremity and was compared to contrlateral normal extremity. Results: The mean latency period measured in the extremit ies with AOVT was higher !han that of normal extremities, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05). in the extremities with AOVT changes, the amplitude values were significantly lower (p<0.05). Conclusions: in conclusion, the change in SSR measurement suggested !hat !here would be a problem in the regulation sudomotor activity in involved areas.
