Özet: Purpose: The purpose of this study is renal functional preservation or stabilization and hypertension in patients who had ischemic-hypertensive nephropathy with primary stenting. Materials and methods: From August 1998 through November 2000, primary stenting were done to sixteen pati­ ents who had ischemic-hypertensive nephropathy. in ali cases after abdominal aortography, selective renal cathete­ rization and primary stenting were done. Creatinin values as a renal function marker and the tension changes com­ pared before and after primary stenting. Results: in fourteen patients, renal artery stenoses were due to ostial and 1/3 proximally situated atherosclerotic pla­ ques and in 2 patients the cause was fibromuscular dysplasia. in one patient renal artery stenosis was in a solitary functioning kidney and one patient had bilaterally renal artery stenosis. As a major complication, stent trombosis de­ veloped in one patient and after trombolytic medication, recanalization of the stent achieved. After steni placement, nine patients whom creatinin values were high or borderline, developed or remain unchanged. Before the procedure all patients were hypertensive. After steni placement, although tension values of seven patients were high, in all patients arterial blood pressures decreased. Conclusion: Renal Arterial stent placement has good clinical results in renal function preservation or stabilization and hypertension management.
