Özet: Recently, ablation of the perforator veins with laser and radiofrequency (RF) energies has taken its" place as an efficient and easily applicaple procedures. Aim of this study is to share our experience about successful perforator vein ablation with RF energy. A 25 year-old male patient with an isolated Cockett 2 perforator insufficieny and a 33 year-old female patient with insufficient great saphenous vein, small saphenous vein and bilateral Cockett 2 perforators. VNUS ClosureRFS stylet catheter was used for perforator vein ablation. VNUS ClosureFast catheter was used for incompetent great and small saphenous veins. Incompetent perforators were cannulated with VNUS ClosureRFS stylet catheter. Catheter was positioned 0.5 cm away from the deep venous system. Then perivenous tumescent anesthesia was applied. Catheter was connected to RF generator. Generator automatically adjusts the settings according to the catheter. There is no button for firing over the ClosureRFS stylet and energy is given from the generator. Following the ablation, occlusion of the perforators was controlled with doppler ultrasound. Concomitant phelebectomies were also performed. Then elastic bandages were applied over the treated extremities. At the six month follow-up, perforators were closed. Patients are doing well. Percutaneous endovenous perforator vein ablation technique is an easy to use, acceptable by the patiens, effective and safe procedure. In the near future, SEPS procedure that take place the Linton procedure will leave its" place to these newer methods.
