Özet: For the patients with end stage renal disease, the arteriovenous fistula(AVF) is the first choice as the route of hemodialysis. Here we present an interesting case in which the AVF operation was complicated by the pulmonary embolism of the balloon of the Fogarty catheter during thrombectomy. Bleeding, arterial or venous occlusion, edema, pseudoaneurysm formation , ischemia, infection and hematoma are among the common compliactions of AVF operations. Rarely, the tip of the port used in oncologic patients can cause pulmonary embolism. Here we aimed to report pulmonary embolism due to Fogarty balloon cathater tip fracture as a rare and highly mortal complication of AVF operations.
