Özet: Tarsal tunnel syndrome (TTS) is an entrapment neuropathy of the posterior tibial ner- ve or its branches under the flexor retinaculum. A number of etiologic factors have been described which cause compression inside or outside the tunnel. These are post traumatic fractures or fibrosis, benign or malignant neoplasia such as lipoma, neurolemma or osteosarcoma, and less often metabolic diseases as varicose veins, tenosynovitis, diabetes and acromegaly. We present a case of tarsal tunnel syndrome in which the compression was due to varicose veins.
