Özet: Objective: In this study, we investigated the effects of iloprost and levosimendan in ischemia-reperfusion injury after infrarenal abdominal aorta occlusion in rats. Material and Methods: Thirty two adult female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided in to 4 groups. Group K was the control group. In Group IR, ischemia was produced for 60 minutes and then they were reper- fused for 120 minutes. In Group IR+IL, 20 ng/kg/min iloprost, and in Group IR+LV 0.2 µg/kg/min lev- osimendan were given 15 minutes before reperfusion. Renal samples were put into formaldehyde solution and were histologically examined under the light microscope. Results: Histopathological investigations showed no pathologic damage in the control and ischemia groups. In IR+IL group and in Group IR+LV group tubular necrosis, hydropic degeneration, neutrophilic infiltration, edema and congestion were statistically non-significant. Conclusion: The histological analyses have revealed that iloprost and levosimendan have no protective effect against reperfusion injury in rat kidney.
